\"\"Sound Explicit is a cycle of live sound and audio experimental performances presenting a diversity of genres: from sound research to various forms of improvisation and experimental sound processing. The cycle was first conceived in 2003, with the purpose of supporting a wider spectrum of creative composition and research in the field of audio-visual art, predominantly those non-popular forms which are rarely included in Slovenian programme offerings.<\/p>\n

The Igor Matkovi\u0107 & Bojan Krhlanko Duet<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\" \"\"In recent years, Igor Matkovi\u0107 (trumpet, keyboards) and Bojan Krhlanko (drums) have started playing as a duet, in which they intertwine different musical genres \u2013 from acoustic improvisation to electronic beats based on long repetitive segments. In their music we can recognise a mix of influences brought from their previous music projects. Matkovi\u0107 lends atmospheric sounds which he developed within his groups; Krhlanko serves up, among other things, industrial rhythms, which he developed with others as a member of the group The Stroj. They enhance the sound of their instruments using telephones, computers and effects.<\/p>\n

Marko \u010crn\u010dec<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"Marko \u010crn\u010dec is one of the most promising young Slovenian contemporary musicians. He\u2019s known on the international scene as an exceptional multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger and producer, mostly active in the field of jazz and popular music. Marko \u010crn\u010dec has released three albums: Signature<\/em> and Moral Interchange<\/em> were released by the local record label B.A.S.E. (2010); his latest album Devotion<\/em> was released by London\u2019s Whirlwind Recordings.<\/p>\n

Bernhard Schimpelsberger<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"British-Austrian drummer Bernhard Schimpelsberger is a singular phenomenon in the world of percussion today. A rhythmic visionary who has unified the percussion traditions of India and the West, expressed through his unique artistic voice.
\nBernhard grew up in Austria, deeply rooted in Jazz and Western classical music, but it was his studies in Indian classical music with Tabla master Suresh Talwalkar that shaped his unique outlook on music. Shimpelsberger has collaborated and toured the globe with his band Circle of Sound, Anoushka Shankar, Nitin Sawhney, dance ace Akram Khan, Talvin Singh and Susheela Raman, among others. <\/p>\n

\nSingularity<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"Guitarist and composer Igor Bezget works in the fields of improvisation, jazz and ethno music. He connects his original creations with folk music melodies and combines them into a uniform whole. He has collaborated with numerous musicians at home and abroad, including the likes of Lester Bowie, Reggie Workman, Gyan Singh, Sharat Srivastava, Billy Harper, Johnathan Blake, Doug Hammond, Chico Freeman, Frank Lacy, Ares Tavolazzi, Nicola Moresu, Marc Abrams, Zlatko Kav\u010di\u010d, Dejan Pe\u010denko, Peter Ugrin, Ratko Divjak. SINGULARITY is the title of a selection of pieces from the solo project A DAY WITH GUITAR, which comprises four extensive guitar solo projects (Singularity, Roots, Shifted Reality, Improvision). <\/p>\n

\nVijoli\u010dni dihViolet Breath<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"Violet Breath is a composition that brings an exciting electroacoustic sound experience. It was first performed in the frame of this year\u2019s World Tuberculosis Day, which also inspired the content of the piece. Bojana \u0160alji\u0107 Pode\u0161va dedicates her work to the research of sound as an entity that has both a physical and substantive influence on the listener. Her music fluctuates between total abstraction and complex semantic layers. She regularly performs at international events and venues (International Rostrum of Composers, IREM, Synth\u00e8se Bourges, Art of Sounds, Slowind, ISCM World Music Days). She has received several awards for her theatre and film music as well as for her concert works.<\/p>\n
