The cycle was first conceived in 2003 in order to support independent research and creative composition in the field of sound art, predominantly those forms which are rarely included in Slovenian programme offerings. He has already recorded 21 albums for world renowned labels, such as Clean Feed, Fresh Sound New Talent, Steeplechase Records and Splasc(h) Records. The prestigious English publisher Penguin Books (Brian Morton &amp; Richard Cook: <em>The Penguin Jazz Guide <\/em><em>&#8211; The History of the Music in the 1001 Best Albums<\/em>, Penguin Books, 2011) placed his release <em>Ornethology<\/em> among the 1001 best albums in the history of jazz music \u2013 alongside jazz giants such as Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane, Duke Ellington, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Charlie Parker.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-3518\" src=\"http:\/\/arhiv.zavod-parasite.si\/slo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Szilard_Mezei_foto_Tommaso_Tuzj.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Szil\u00e1rd Mezei <\/strong>is a member of the Hungarian minority born in Vojvodina. He finished his study of violin in Senta and Subotica and also studied composition in Belgrade. An international award-winning violinist, violist, contrabassist and composer, he has performed in many groups, among them he has collaborated with the famous dancer and choreographer Josef Nadj, with whom they graced numerous European and Japanese festivals. He is the leader of the Szil\u00e1rd Mezei Trio, Szil\u00e1rd Mezei Quintet, Szil\u00e1rd Mezei Septet and plays in different formations of improvised music, including in the duet with Gy\u00f6rgy Szabados and his orchestra MAKUZ, the Fonda\/Stevens Group, Bur\u00e1ny Quartet and in a duet with Albert M\u00e1rkos.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-3513\" src=\"http:\/\/arhiv.zavod-parasite.si\/slo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Dre-Hocevar_foto-Jaka-Vinsek.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><strong>Dr\u00e9 <\/strong><strong>Ho\u010devar <\/strong>is an internationally recognised composer and percussionist active in improvised music who often performs in the United States, Asia and Europe. Lives in Berlin, where he is preparing for studying composition and computerised music, he counts among his teachers Stever Lehman, Gerry Hemingway, Michael Carvin and Joe Morris. He is a member Nate Wooley\u2019s Knknighgh Quartet and leads the group Coding of Evidentiality, Collective Effervescence and Transcendental Within the Sphere of Indivisble Remainder. After studying jazz at the University of Music in Graz, music brought him to many different stages around the world. He has collaborated with a wide variety of local and foreign creators. Credited on over 60 albums as a bassist, composer or arranger, he composes for small and large groups, short films, multimedia and dance performances and also collaborates in the theatre. He currently teaches at the Conservatory of Music and Ballet in Ljublana. In 2008 he received the expert award for jazz composition <em>Jazzon<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-3512\" src=\"http:\/\/arhiv.zavod-parasite.si\/slo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Daniel-Noesig-foto-osebni-arhiv.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After studying trumpet with professor Alois Vierbacher, <strong>Daniel Noesig <\/strong>continued his studies in the Carinthian State Conservatorium in Klagenfurt with professor Lee Harper and received his bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees at the Royal Conservatoire in the Hague, the Netherlands. He has collaborated with a number of internationaly <em>acclaimed<\/em> musicians such as Joe Zawinul, Sam Rivers, Adam Nussbaum, Karl Ratzer, Lori Williams, Bill Evans, Johannes Enders, Danny Grissett, Vicente Archer, Miles Griffith, Gregory Hutchinson, Thomas Gansch, Josh Ginsburg, Jure Pukl, Rudy Royston, Michel Godard. Since 2012, he teaches trumpet in the regional conservatory in Klagenfurt and at the JAM Music Lab in Vienna.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>UNDECIDED<\/strong> is a project by two renowned Slovenian musicians, Renato Chicco and Ga\u0161per Bertoncelj. The two first met in New York on the jazz workshop of the legendary pianist Barry Harris. The rich and colorful sound spectrum of the organ and the resonant range of the drums will provide exceptional possibilities for uncovering new and different musical images.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-3515\" src=\"http:\/\/arhiv.zavod-parasite.si\/slo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Renato-Chicco-foto-Antonio-Porcar.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Pianist and organist <strong>Renato Chicco <\/strong>is undoubtedly one of the best known Slovenian jazz musicians in the world. After studying music in Graz he continued his studies at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. In the 1990s he was very active on the New York scene and regularly collaborated with Jon Hendricks and Lionel Hampton. His rich experience and collaborations with legendary jazz musicians such as Lou Donaldson, Woody Shaw, Freddie Hubbard, Clark Terry, Benny Golson, Red Holloway, Al Grey, Joe Williams, Wynton Marsalis, Gary Burton, Milt Hinton and Reggie Workman and others have given him exceptional depth of sound and unlimited feeling for rhythm. He currently teaches at the University of Music in Graz and regularly performs worldwide.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-3514\" src=\"http:\/\/arhiv.zavod-parasite.si\/slo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Gasper-Bertoncelj-foto-Peter-Vit.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>Drummer <strong>Ga\u0161per Bertoncelj<\/strong> is a well-known name on the Slovenian and international music scene. The beginnings of his musical path cross into Austria, where he studied at Bruckner University with Doug Hammond. After graduating he moved to New York and finished his master\u2019s degree at the City College of New York. His teachers were Victor Lewis, Billy Drummond, Andy Watson and John Patitucci. He collaborates with world-renowned jazz musicians such as Kevin Mahogany, Lew Tabackin, Dena DeRose and Jim Rotondi. For the majority of his career, he has been active abroad, where he is known for his musicality and positive approach to music.
