Her video works and installations are presented in the accompanying solo exhibition <em>Aside<\/em>. The common characteristic of the video works in the biennial as well as those in the accompanying exhibition is the thin line between reality and fiction.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Programme:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>5 October at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.:<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; discussion with artist Pilvi Takala and curator Silke Opitz<br \/>\n&#8211; opening of the biennial and of the solo exhibition by Pilvi Takala<\/p>\n<p><strong>16 October at 6 p.m.:<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; guided tour of the exhibition, led by Polonca Lov\u0161in<br \/>\n&#8211; projections of previous selections of the Short Video Biennial -5 Minutes from 2006, 2008, and 2010<\/p>\n<p><strong>17 October at 6 p.m.:<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; projections of previous selections of the Short Video Biennial -5 Minutes from 2006, 2008, and 2010<\/p>\n<p><strong>26 October at 6 p.m.:<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; conclusion with a guided tour of the exhibition, led by Polonca Lov\u0161in<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pilvi Takala<\/strong> (1981) is a Finnish artist who lives and works in Amsterdam and Istanbul. She graduated from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in 2006 (MFA), was artist-in-residence at Rijksakademie, Amsterdam 2009\/10 and won the Dutch Prix de Rome Visual Arts 2011. Her solo exhibitions include K\u00fcnstlerhaus Bremen; Kunsthalle Erfurt, Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art, Helsinki; Turku Art Museum; Kunsthalle Lissabon; SKMU S\u00f8rlandets Kunstmuseum, Kristiansand (NO); Galerija Miroslav Kraljevic, Zagreb; and Frac des Pays de la Loire, Nantes. Her work has been shown in group shows in New Museum, New York; S.M.A.K., Ghent; Matadero Madrid; EVA International, Limerick; CoCa, Torun (PL); Kunsthalle Basel; De Hallen Haarlem; Wiels, Brussels; 4th Moscow Biennial; Witte de With, Rotterdam; CAC, Vilnius; 4th Bucharest Biennial; Eskilstuna Art Museum (SE); 5th Berlin Biennial; 9th Istanbul Biennial; Platform Garanti Contemporary Art Center, Istanbul; and Kunsthalle Helsinki.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Silke Opitz<\/strong> (1970) is an art historian, curator, writer, and lecturer from Germany. She studied art history, German literature, and media at the University of Canterbury and at the Philipps-Universit\u00e4t Marburg where she finished with a Master\u2019s of Arts. In 2000 she received her doctorate from the Bauhaus-Universit\u00e4t Weimar. There she was assistant professor from 2002\u20132008. Since 2001 she works as an independent curator. In that time she has collaborated on a number of international exhibition projects, for example, at Kunsthalle Erfurt and Kunstverein Ludwigsburg and on exhibitions in the USA (New York) and the Netherlands. Since 2012 she is curator of Kunsthalle Erfurt.<\/p>\n<p>Program of the P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E.
