From 25 to 28 September 2014, Zavod P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. will participate in the ninth edition of the largest and most prestigious fair of artist\u2019s books in the world, the NY Art Book Fair in New York. The fair will take place in the spaces of MoMA P.S.1 in Queens.<\/p>\n

The largest number of exhibitors comprises American and Canadian independent publishing houses, then come English, Dutch, German and Swiss. An extremely popular event, last year\u2019s fair attracted 27,000 visitors over three days. This year\u2019s edition of the fair is accompanied by a rich line-up of lectures, informal talks, workshops, presentations, round tables, concerts. A special emphasis is on Norwegian publishing houses, who are represented under the common title: NORWAY FOCUS: KUNSTNERB\u00d8KER.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Zavod P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. will be exhibiting at the fair for the sixth year. This year, alongside the standard offer of artist\u2019s books from the younger generation of Slovenian artists, Zavod P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. presents three world premieres: an exclusive presentation of the new artist\u2019s book by Lala Ra\u0161\u010di\u0107<\/strong> with the title \u201cLala\u2019s Reader\u201d<\/strong> (the author will be signing the book, Friday 26.9.2014 at 3:00 pm), a presentation of the book Dialectionary<\/strong><\/a>, published by the Cluster network of European of independent centres of contemporary arts (of which Ljubljana\u2019s P74 Center and Gallery is also a member) and the new publication of Suzana Milevska \u201c<\/strong>The Art of Tadej<\/strong> Poga\u010dar: From Institutional \u201cParasitism\u201d to Reverse Recuperation, Agency, and Solidarity\u201d<\/strong>, published by Berlin publishing house Archive Books.<\/p>\n

Lala Ra\u0161\u010di\u0107<\/strong> (born in 1977 in Sarajevo) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb and completed her master\u2019s at Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. She has been a guest of international exhibitions, festivals and residencies of contemporary arts throughout the world and has had numerous solo exhibitions in the region of former Yugoslavia and Europe. In 2006 she received the Zvono Award for Best Young Bosnian Artist. She lives and works between Zagreb, Sarajevo and New Orleans.<\/p>\n
