TOTAL GLOBALISM \u2013 Tactical networked cognitivism The conceptual international intermedia collective PROVISIONAL SALTA ENSEMBLE was founded around the agreement that its members communicate only with each other and that its production comes into being only at a distance and exclusively with the assistance of online tools and e-mail. The protocol of the group’s work is determined by four basic rules: The project in P74 Gallery presents three of the conceptually most elaborate projects of the group: The aim of the exhibited project is to show how the bodies of five artists, who are geographically separated from one another, can resolve a problem that can be summed up with the phrase \u201cobject oriented mind\u201d together using computer programs and e-mail, while being passively monitored by the curator. In doing so, the concept specifies three aspects: the gaze, the subconscious and fascination.<\/p>\n The project took place gradually, in four basic phases: the first phase represents the initial communication (the delivering of instructions) between the curator and the performers. Next is the phase of creation \u2013 a process of long intensive communication among the artists. In the third phase, the curator received the basic parameters for the layout and installation of the project in the gallery space. \nThe production platform or Provisional Salta Ensemble <\/em>(PSE) was created in 2008 through an online correspondence among the artists Benjamin Brandt (Berlin), Cristiano arvizo (Buenos Aires), Mazin Labaky (Beirut), Min Laing (Beijing) and Nenad Josif (Belgrade).The mediator in communication among these five artists is the curator, art theorist and doctor of aesthetics dr. Mi\u0161ko \u0160uvakovi\u0107. He personally knows Mazin Labaky from childhood, when their fathers worked on collaborative projects in Kuwait in the 1960s. Labaky studied with Cristiano Carvizo at MIT in Cambridge (USA) in the mid-1970s. Carvizo worked on a series of projects connected with industrial design with Benjamin Brandt and Nenad Josifo at AEG in the late 1980s. The sister of Nenad Josif, Vera Josif, lives with Min Laing in Beijing, where he is studying for his doctorate in digital design. <\/strong><\/p>\n
\nMi\u0161ko \u0160uvakovi\u0107 is an internationally renowned theorist, lecturer, writer and curator as well as one of the best authorities of contemporary arts in the region. He is an honorary member of the Slovene Society of Aesthetics. He received his PhD from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Arts in Belgrade and is employed as a full professor at the Faculty of Music Arts. He lectures on the theory of art in the interdisciplinary post-graduate study at the University of Arts in Belgrade.
\nHe was an active as a member of the conceptual group Grupe 143 (1975\u20131980), editor of the independent journal for theory Mentalni prostor <\/em>[Mental space] (Belgrade, 1982\u20131987), a member of the editorial boards of the journals Transkatalog<\/em> (Novi Sad, 1995\u20131998) andTeorija koja Hoda<\/em> [Walking Theory](Belgrade, since 2001).
